First pattern Reich Battle Flag for sale. The flag of multi-panel construction on red flag cloth. Iron Cross to the upper-left canton, swastika to the centre. The flag with lanyard and securing rope section bearing wooden toggle. The border with various markings, along with inventory numbers.

Size: 80cm x 140cm.

Condition report: Overall good condition. A few small holes to the field, along with stains, and general service use.

Provenance: The flag acquired by a serving British soldier during W.W.II. During the 1960s / 1970s, the flag along with other war souvenirs given by the soldier to his local military museum ( Finlake Military Museum, Devon). During the later 1980s , the museum was closing down, and the contents auctioned off on site.  The flag acquired for the Davis German Navy Collection direct from the auction. A provenance document from the Davis collection included in the sale.
